From the Classroom to Congress!  Little Miss 6888th: A Call For Us To Rally Behind Our Youngest Historians. FORT WORTH, TEXAS – History is alive in the hearts of our children, and the time has come for our community to stand up, show up, and lift up the next generation of leaders! Little Miss 6888th, a group of extraordinary young girls, is taking their passion for history from the classroom to the national stage, and we need YOU to be a part of this momentous journey! A Movement Born in the Classroom, Now Headed for the Nation’s Capital It all started in a small private school filled with big dreams. Miss Endy’s Christian Academy transformed into a portal of history, where Mrs. Sue Crosby’s students mesmerized an audience with their Black History Month performances. But one moment in particular captured the spirit of a movement—when a young girl, clad in a perfectly tailored Army uniform, stepped forward to embody Major Charity Edna Adams, commander of the legendary 6888th ...

RACE, READING & REFORM – Ministers Justice Coalition Meeting Today in the Kirk Franklin Chapel. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The media and public are invited to attend the Ministers Justice Coalition meeting today, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at New Mount Rose. We will begin gathering at 11:00 AM. Today’s discussion will focus on the urgent need for education reform in Tarrant County. From literacy gaps to truancy, dropouts, and the school-to-prison pipeline, the punitive education model continues to fail Black children, producing some of the worst educational outcomes since slavery. Leading the discussion is Pastor Kyev Tatum, a subject matter expert and three-decade advocate for school choice and education reform. With a focus on Race, Reading, and Reform, Pastor Tatum will outline solutions to improve ...

WHY CHILDREN IN FORT WORTH CANNOT READ: A Literacy Crisis That Can No Longer Be Ignored By Pastor Kyev P. Tatum, Sr., New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas As Fort Worth lays to rest civil rights icon Judge L. Clifford Davis—a man who fought to integrate Mansfield High School in 1956—our city faces an undeniable and devastating truth: our children still cannot read. This is not a new problem. In 2006, we sounded the alarm, warning that a literacy crisis was brewing in our community. We saw the signs. We raised our voices. We demanded action. But instead of addressing the issue, those in power dismissed our concerns, ignored the warning signs, and vilified those of us who dared to speak the truth. Now, nearly two decades later, the very same officials who once turned a blind eye are finally admitting what we have been saying all along—our children are struggling to read. But acknowledgment is not enough. How do you ignore a problem for twenty years, silence those...
