RACE, READING & REFORM – Ministers Justice Coalition Meeting Today in the Kirk Franklin Chapel.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The media and public are invited to attend the Ministers Justice Coalition meeting today, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at New Mount Rose. We will begin gathering at 11:00 AM.

Today’s discussion will focus on the urgent need for education reform in Tarrant County. While county leaders have declared literacy as the highest priority, Black leaders have spent the past 20 years advocating for meaningful change—yet little progress has been made. From literacy gaps to truancy, dropouts, and the school-to-prison pipeline, the punitive education model continues to fail Black children, producing some of the worst educational outcomes since slavery.

Leading the discussion is Pastor Kyev Tatum, a subject matter expert and three-decade advocate for school choice and education reform. With a focus on Race, Reading, and Reform, Pastor Tatum will outline solutions to improve reading comprehension for Black children and parents, ensuring that education becomes a pathway to success rather than a pipeline to failure.

All are encouraged to attend as we seek real change for our children and our community.
