Morningside Mercado is a Faith-Based Marketplace Ministry of New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church created to serve Fort Worth’s inner-city 76104 community—a diverse community of neighbors whose families, cultures, languages, foods, traditions, and stories have roots across the globe.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
BRING GOOD FOOD CLOSER TO THE PEOPLE.
CREATE OPPORTUNITY CLOSER TO THE PEOPLE.
BUILD HEALTH, WEALTH AND WELL-BEING WITH THE PEOPLE.
We will work to increase access to proteins, dairy products, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, culturally familiar foods, nutritious choices, and economic opportunities.
This is about more than groceries.

ZIP Code 76104 has been identified with one of the lowest life expectancies in Texas.
That cannot simply become a statistic we quote.
IT MUST BECOME A CONDITION WE WORK TOGETHER TO CHANGE.
We believe improving community health requires addressing the everyday conditions that influence how people live.
And one of the most basic questions is:
Can families conveniently obtain fresh, nutritious, affordable food close to where they live?
Rather than only talking about the problem, Morningside Mercado is working to bring part of the solution directly into the neighborhood.

We want to improve HEALTH by increasing access to nutritious, affordable foods and encouraging healthier choices for children, adults, families, and seniors.

We want to help build WEALTH by creating opportunities for farmers, ranchers, gardeners, growers, vendors, entrepreneurs, food producers, and small businesses to participate in the marketplace.
And this is where Proverbs 31:24 speaks directly to our vision.
The woman described in Proverbs did not only consume.
She produced.
She created.
She sold.
She participated in the marketplace.
That is part of the Morningside Mercado vision.
We do not only want people coming to the Mercado to BUY.
We want people from our community to have opportunities to:
GROW. PRODUCE. SELL. CREATE. BUILD.
We want the gardener with an abundance to see possibility.
We want the farmer to find customers.
We want the rancher to find a marketplace.
We want the food producer to find opportunity.
