PIPELINE TO POSSIBILITIES COMES TO LIFE AT NATIONAL LULAC YOUTH & COLLEGE EXPO.

By Pastor Kyev P. Tatum, Sr.

FORT WORTH, Texas — The vision of creating pathways to higher education, workforce development, leadership, citizenship, and economic opportunity became a reality on Thursday, June 18, 2026, as New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church hosted the National LULAC Youth & College Expo at 2864 Mississippi Avenue in Fort Worth.

Students, families, educators, community leaders, and advocates gathered from across America to participate in a day focused on opportunity, empowerment, and the future of young people. The event served as a local extension of the 2026 National LULAC Convention and highlighted the newly launched Pipeline to Possibilities Initiative, a partnership designed to connect students and families to educational and career pathways.

The expo welcomed youth from diverse backgrounds and provided information about college access, career readiness, leadership development, citizenship opportunities, scholarships, internships, and community engagement. Throughout the day, students toured the church campus, participated in discussions, met community leaders, and learned about programs designed to help them achieve their educational and professional goals.

The event showcased New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church’s growing role as a community hub where faith, education, and service intersect. Activities were held throughout the church campus, including the Milford L. Kelly Fellowship Hall and the sanctuary, where students gathered beneath the vibrant Illumination Station Vacation Bible School set as a reminder that learning and faith can work together to illuminate future possibilities.

A highlight of the day was the spirit of hospitality demonstrated by church volunteers and community partners who welcomed participants, provided meals, and created an environment where students felt valued and encouraged.

“This is exactly what Pipeline to Possibilities is all about,” said Pastor Kyev P. Tatum, Sr. “We want every young person to know that there is a pathway for them. Whether it is college, workforce training, entrepreneurship, public service, citizenship, or community leadership, we want them to see opportunities and believe they can achieve their dreams.”

The expo also reflected the growing partnership between New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, LULAC leaders, educational institutions, and community organizations committed to expanding access and opportunity for underserved communities.

As students gathered for group photographs, shared meals, and engaged in conversations about their futures, the message of the day was clear: the pipeline is being built, and possibilities are becoming reality.

The National LULAC Youth & College Expo was more than an event. It was an investment in the next generation of leaders and a reminder that when communities come together around education, service, and opportunity, lives are transformed.
