GOALS FOR OUR SOULS: Where the World Comes Together and Jesus Changes Lives Forever.

“We Provide the Goals. Jesus Wins Their Souls.” Pastor Tatum

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

While millions around the globe are watching the FIFA World Cup, something equally inspiring is taking place on a neighborhood soccer field in Fort Worth’s historic Morningside community.

Children from different nations, cultures, languages, and backgrounds are gathering around one soccer ball.

They’re learning to pass.

They’re learning to trust.

They’re learning to encourage one another.

And through Goals for Our Souls, they’re also learning about the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Kyev P. Tatum, Sr. gives thanks to God for sending David and Aracely Ramos to New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church for such a time as this (https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/video/fort-worth-church-building-garden-boxes-to-help-address-food-insecurity/).

Together with God’s Army at New Mount Rose, faithful church members, volunteers, parents, and community partners, they are demonstrating that the most effective outreach begins by meeting children where they are.

For many children in Morningside, that place is the soccer field.

But the vision doesn’t stop there.

From soccer goals to building garden boxes…

From citizenship opportunities to leadership development…

From community service to sharing the Gospel…

David and Aracely Ramos are helping New Mount Rose minister to the whole child, strengthen the whole family, transform the whole community, and bless the whole city.

Every practice is about more than developing athletic ability.

It is about developing character.

It is about building confidence.

It is about creating friendships.

It is about restoring hope.

It is about opening hearts to Jesus Christ.

The photographs tell the story.

Children smiling.

Teenagers encouraging younger players.

Volunteer coaches teaching with patience.

Families cheering from the sidelines.

Neighbors becoming friends.

A community becoming one.

This is exactly what the Gospel looks like when faith leaves the sanctuary and enters the neighborhood.

The soccer field becomes a mission field.

The goalposts become gateways to the Gospel.

The coach becomes a mentor.

The team becomes a family.

The neighborhood becomes a mission.

David and Aracely Ramos understand that the greatest victory is never measured by the final score.

The greatest goal is the one God scores in a child’s heart.

Through their faithful leadership, children are discovering discipline, respect, teamwork, responsibility, servant leadership, and purpose.

Parents are discovering community.

The church is discovering new opportunities to serve.

And Fort Worth is discovering what can happen when a local congregation says “Yes” to God’s call.

At New Mount Rose, we believe every child deserves a safe place to play.

Every family deserves a caring community.

Every neighborhood deserves hope.

Every young person deserves opportunities to learn, grow, serve, and succeed.

And every child deserves the opportunity to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

That is why this ministry is called Goals for Our Souls.

Because this mission belongs to all of us.

We provide the goals.

Jesus wins their souls.

More Than a Soccer Ministry

Goals for Our Souls is the front door to a lifetime of opportunity.

As children grow in faith and confidence, they are invited into New Mount Rose’s broader ministry of hope through the Pipeline to Possibilities.

Here they can learn to grow food by building neighborhood garden boxes.

They can develop leadership skills through community service.

They can prepare for citizenship and educational opportunities.

They can discover mentors who believe in them.

They can serve their neighbors.

Most importantly, they can grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our vision is simple:

Whole Child.

Whole Family.

Whole Community.

Whole City.

One relationship at a time through the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
