Protecting Our Senior Saints Before Disaster Strikes
New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church is proud to announce the launch of the Senior Saints Emergency Preparedness Ministry, a collaborative community initiative dedicated to protecting the lives of our senior citizens through education, preparation, and service.
This ministry is built on a simple belief:
Prepared people are resilient people.
Our goal is to ensure that 1,000 senior saints throughout Fort Worth are equipped with emergency preparedness tool kits and the knowledge needed to respond confidently during emergencies, severe weather events, power outages, and other disasters.
Working in partnership with the American Red Cross, we will also help install smoke detectors in the homes of senior citizens, providing an additional layer of protection and peace of mind for seniors and their families.
Our Mission
- Equip 1,000 Senior Saints with Emergency Preparedness Tool Kits.
- Install smoke detectors in senior citizens’ homes.
- Host Emergency Preparedness Workshops.
- Train volunteers to serve vulnerable populations during disasters.
- Build stronger neighborhoods through faith-based emergency preparedness.
Together We Will Provide
• Emergency Preparedness Tool Kits
• Smoke Detector Installation
• Disaster Preparedness Workshops
• Fire Safety Education
• Severe Weather Preparedness
• Emergency Planning for Families
• Volunteer Training
• Community Outreach
Building a More Resilient Community
The Senior Saints Emergency Preparedness Ministry reflects the power of collaboration between faith-based organizations, government agencies, nonprofit partners, and community volunteers.
Together, we are creating a model that protects our most vulnerable residents while strengthening the resilience of neighborhoods throughout Fort Worth.
As we often say at New Mount Rose:
“It’s better to be prepared and not have an opportunity than to have an opportunity and not be prepared.”
Our vision is clear:
Every Senior Prepared. Every Home Safer. Every Community Stronger.
We are grateful to the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Fort Worth Emergency Operations Center, and the American Red Cross for their willingness to partner with us in this important ministry. Together, we are building a safer, stronger, and more resilient community for generations to come.
