COVER LETTER
May 20, 2026
Dear Members of the Pastoral Search Committee,
Grace and peace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I humbly and prayerfully submit this letter and accompanying resume for consideration as Pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. It is with deep respect for your congregation, your history, and your commitment to the Gospel that I express my sincere interest in serving alongside you in ministry.
For more than twenty-five years, God has blessed me with opportunities to preach, teach, shepherd, and serve His people through ministry, community outreach, leadership development, and pastoral care. Since 2018, I have served as Senior Pastor of New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth, where our ministry has focused not only on proclaiming the Gospel, but also on demonstrating the love of Christ through prayer, discipleship, healing, education, outreach, and community transformation.
I accepted my call to preach the Gospel in October 1997 during the Texas NAACP State Convention Prayer Breakfast after hearing a sermon from Nehemiah 4 preached by Bishop John Richard Bryant. From that moment forward, I committed my life to serving God’s people with faith, compassion, integrity, and servant leadership.
Throughout my ministry journey, I have remained passionate about biblical preaching, pastoral counseling, mentoring youth and families, strengthening churches, and building bridges between faith and community. I believe the church should serve as both a spiritual refuge and a beacon of hope in the community — a place where lives are transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
I would be honored for the opportunity to further discuss my faith journey, ministry philosophy, leadership experience, and vision for pastoral service with your committee. Thank you for your prayerful consideration, and may God continue to bless St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church as you seek His guidance for your next pastor.
With prayerful sincerity,
Kyev P. Tatum, Sr.
