BABIES, BRAIDS, & BEAUTY: Smart, Sharp & Set Apart at God’s Army at New Mount Rose. 1 Corinthians 11:15
NEW MOUNT ROSE - 1 Corinthians 11:15 (KJV) reminds us:
A woman’s hair is her glory—a divine expression of beauty, honor, and covering.
On Day 4 of God’s Army Spring Break Camp, something extraordinary unfolded—far beyond braids and beauty. It was ministry in motion, purpose in practice, and transformation on full display.
At New Mount Rose, God is raising up an army—not with weapons, but with wisdom, love, discipline, and faith. God’s Army is more than a name—it is a movement. A movement where children are being trained not only to play, but to pray… not only to learn, but to lead… not only to grow, but to glow in the glory God placed inside of them.
On this day, our young girls gathered—not just to learn a skill, but to discover something deeper within themselves.
With focused minds and careful hands, they embraced the beautiful craft of hair braiding. What may appear simple on the surface was, in truth, a sacred moment of self-discovery, discipline, creativity, and dignity.
In a world that often distorts beauty and diminishes worth, we paused long enough to speak life into our young queens:
You are already beautiful.
You are already worthy.
And what God gave you is already enough.
Their hair—whether braided, natural, curled, or styled—is not something to hide or compare.
It is their glory.
It is a crown given by God Himself.
Ministry in Motion: God’s Army at Work
This is the power of God’s Army.
Under the leadership and love of David and Aracely, something remarkable is happening in our community. Together, they are not just leading activities—they are raising leaders, restoring confidence, and rebuilding identity.
They meet our children where they are…
love them as they are…
and walk with them into who God has called them to be.
With patience, passion, and purpose, they are helping our children:
• Learn teamwork through play
• Discover discipline through structure
• Build confidence through encouragement
• Experience God in everyday moments
They are not just teaching games—
they are teaching life.
They are not just supervising children—
they are shepherding futures.
And the impact is undeniable. When children feel seen, valued, and supported, they begin to see value in themselves.
More Than Braids—A Blueprint for Confidence
As the girls learned to braid, they were also learning:
• How to care for themselves
• How to create with their hands
• How to build confidence from within
• How to honor what God has already placed on their heads
Because one of the greatest battles our young girls face today is low self-esteem—the silent struggle of not feeling like enough in a world that constantly tells them they are not.
But on this day… something shifted.
Confidence was being braided.
Purpose was being parted.
Identity was being restored—strand by strand.
This ministry is not just about hair.
It is about healing.
It is about empowerment.
It is about teaching our girls that they can be self-sufficient, skilled, and strong in God.
When a young girl learns to care for her own hair, she is doing more than learning a skill—she is making a declaration:
“I can take care of myself.
I can create beauty.
I am valuable.”
And when she understands that her beauty comes from God, she begins to walk differently—
with confidence, grace, and purpose.
A Declaration Over Our Daughters
So we declare today:
A woman’s hair is a beautiful gift from God.
It should be treated with honor, modesty, and respect—not just for how it looks, but for what it represents.
Because every braid tells a story.
Every strand carries identity.
Every crown reflects God’s glory.
And every young girl in God’s Army deserves to know:
You are not forgotten.
You are not less than.
You are not what the world says.
You are God’s masterpiece—
crowned with glory,
covered in purpose,
and set apart for greatness.
