These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things through the power of God.

The inspiration comes from Hebrews 13:2, which reminds us:

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

This scripture carries a profound truth. It teaches us that every person we encounter carries dignity and divine possibility. The person standing in need today may be the very messenger God has placed in our path tomorrow.

That is why the ministry of New Mount Rose teaches its members to look beyond appearances and conditions.

We do not measure people by their struggle.

We do not define people by their circumstances.

We do not dismiss people because of where they live or what they lack.

Instead, we see the image of God in every human life.

And when members of New Mount Rose accept the call to serve — when they step beyond the church walls and into the community — they become part of something bigger than themselves.

They become Angels in the Hood.

They become instruments of healing in neighborhoods that have endured hardship.

They become voices of encouragement in communities that have faced neglect.

They become witnesses that faith, hope, and love still have the power to transform lives.

In the inner city of Fort Worth, where challenges are real and hope can sometimes feel distant, New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church believes the church must be more than a building.
