Angels in the Hood. Hebrews 13:2
ANGELS IN THE HOOD.
New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth
Hebrews 13:2
In the heart of Fort Worth’s historic 76104 community, there stands a church that believes faith is not only something we proclaim — it is something we practice. At New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, worship does not end when the final hymn is sung or when the sanctuary doors close. In many ways, that is when the real work of the Gospel begins.
Because at New Mount Rose, faith is never meant to sit still.
Faith moves.
Faith reaches.
Faith serves.
This is Love in Motion.
Every Sunday, believers gather to praise, pray, and hear the Word of God. But when you walk into New Mount Rose, you quickly discover something powerful: you never quite know what assignment the Lord may give you that day.
You may come expecting a sermon and leave with a mission.
You may arrive seeking encouragement and leave carrying responsibility.
Because at New Mount Rose, faith is not passive. Faith is active. Faith is visible. Faith shows up in the streets, in the schools, in the homes, and in the lives of neighbors who need hope.
That is why we call the servants of this ministry “Angels in the Hood.”
Not angels with halos floating in the clouds —
but angels with work boots on the ground.
Angels who mentor children.
Angels who feed the hungry.
Angels who comfort grieving families.
Angels who advocate for justice.
Angels who help neighbors rebuild their lives.
These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things through the power of God.
The inspiration comes from Hebrews 13:2, which reminds us:
“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
This scripture carries a profound truth. It teaches us that every person we encounter carries dignity and divine possibility. The person standing in need today may be the very messenger God has placed in our path tomorrow.
That is why the ministry of New Mount Rose teaches its members to look beyond appearances and conditions.
We do not measure people by their struggle.
We do not define people by their circumstances.
We do not dismiss people because of where they live or what they lack.
Instead, we see the image of God in every human life.
And when members of New Mount Rose accept the call to serve — when they step beyond the church walls and into the community — they become part of something bigger than themselves.
They become Angels in the Hood.
They become instruments of healing in neighborhoods that have endured hardship.
They become voices of encouragement in communities that have faced neglect.
They become witnesses that faith, hope, and love still have the power to transform lives.
In the inner city of Fort Worth, where challenges are real and hope can sometimes feel distant, New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church believes the church must be more than a building.
It must be a beacon.
A place where children can learn.
A place where families can rebuild.
A place where faith turns into action.
Under the belief that community empowerment is an extension of the Gospel, the church embraces its mission to serve both the spiritual and practical needs of the people.
Because Jesus did both.
He preached salvation.
He healed the sick.
He fed the hungry.
He lifted the broken.
And today, through the hands and hearts of believers, His love continues to move.
That is Love in Motion.
In that same spirit, New Mount Rose calls its members to carry the message of Christ into the very streets where people live.
The church becomes a launching pad for ministry.
The neighborhood becomes the mission field.
And the people become the messengers.
That is the heartbeat of Angels in the Hood.
It is the understanding that when believers serve with compassion, courage, and humility, they reflect the very love of Christ to the world around them.
So when you come to worship at New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, come ready.
Come ready to praise.
Come ready to pray.
Come ready to hear the Word.
But also come ready for something more.
Because you never know when the Lord may place an assignment on your heart.
And when you say “Yes, Lord,” you may discover that you too have become one of the Angels in the Hood — carrying Love in Motion and bringing light, hope, and healing to Fort Worth one life at a time.
