THE YEAR OF THE CHILDREN | 2026
A Sacred Declaration from New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth
New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church joyfully and prophetically declares 2026 as The Year of the Children—a year devoted to greater things from them and greater things for them. This declaration is both spiritual and practical, uniting our faith, facilities, and farm in a holistic commitment to nurturing the next generation.
Proverbs 22:6 – The Foundation of Our Work
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
At New Mount Rose, this Scripture is not a slogan—it is our strategy. Children are not simply to be managed or maintained—they are to be reared, guided, and nurtured with intention. Training requires consistency, patience, correction, love, and direction over time.
That’s why we say:
You rear children. You raise chickens. There is a big difference.
Chickens can be raised with feed, water, and fences. Children must be reared—shaped by faith, values, relationships, and example. Chickens respond to food; children respond to love, discipline, instruction, and modeling. At New Mount Rose, we do both—but we never confuse the two.
Rearing Our Own to Succeed While Raising Our Own to Serve
To rear a child is to invest in who they are becoming. Success is measured not just by achievement, but by character, faith, wisdom, and compassion. To raise a servant is to teach that gifts are not for personal gain alone, but for God’s glory and the good of others.
Proverbs 22:6 guides how we:
• Teach children who they are in Christ
• Shape their decision-making and discipline
• Model service, stewardship, and responsibility
• Anchor them in faith that endures beyond childhood
Just as a farmer tends both chickens and crops, we tend hearts and minds, knowing that careful nurturing produces lasting fruit.
Pray | Covered in Faith
We cover our children in prayer, just as a mother hen protects her chicks. Prayer shapes identity, builds spiritual confidence, and anchors young hearts in Christ. We pray over them, with them, and teach them how to pray—so faith becomes personal, not inherited.
Play | Formed Through Joy
Joy is holy. In our safe spaces and facilities, children are free to play, explore, and flourish, like chicks learning to scratch and run in the sun. Play fosters creativity, confidence, and community—essential tools for lifelong learning and emotional health.
Plant | Faith in Action
We plant seeds of faith, literacy, discipline, and responsibility. On our farm and in our classrooms, children plant real seeds in real soil, learning stewardship, patience, and teamwork. Just as a farmer tends the garden carefully, we nurture young hearts and minds so what is planted early produces lasting fruit.
Pluck | Harvest with Gratitude
Children learn to pluck the fruit of their labor. They see that obedience leads to blessing, effort leads to harvest, and faith produces results. Whether in the soil, the classroom, or their spiritual walk, they learn that God honors what is nurtured with care—just like chickens that grow healthy under watchful attention.
At New Mount Rose, children are not merely the church of tomorrow—they are essential to the church today. Through faith, facilities, and farm, we create environments where children can:
pray with confidence, play with joy, plant with purpose, and pluck with gratitude—as we rear our own to succeed while we raise our own to serve.
