THE BARBER THAT KEEPS ON BLESSING THE BLOCK. Unsheltered Men at the New Mount Rose Warming Center Receive Haircuts at the House of Fadez.

“Mama, is Pastor still with the people?” Ariyal

“Yes baby, Pastor is still with the people.” Erika Webb

MORNINGSIDE, TEXAS - As we continue to highlight the amazing people who stepped into the valley with New Mount Rose, one of the greatest blessings we received didn’t come from a building — it came from a barber.

Boss Lady Erika Webb, owner of House of Fadez, blessed many of our unsheltered neighbors with complimentary haircuts, restoring not just their appearance — but their confidence, dignity, and sense of self.

It was more than clippers and chairs.

It was transformation.

Men walked in weary.

They walked out standing taller.

Young boys smiled wider.

Grown men looked in the mirror and saw themselves again.

Meanwhile, Pastor Tatum is still walking around looking like Grizzly Adams — but that’s another testimony for another day.

If you don’t know Erika, this might surprise you.

But for those of us who do — this is simply how her heart works.

She doesn’t just cut hair.

She cultivates community.

From Easter egg hunts to back-to-school bashes…

From Thanksgiving dinners to Christmas giveaways…

Erika has consistently been a pillar in the neighborhood, serving her neighbors with gladness.

Today, we celebrate her hands and her heart.

As Mother June Slater reminded us on the New Mount Rose Prayer Line:

“The mountaintop is for the view, but the valley is for the fruit.”

And after seven days of sincere service, the fruit was plentiful:

• 3 souls baptized

• 55 souls sheltered

• Countless meals served

• Blankets, clothing, shoes distributed

• Dignity restored — one haircut at a time

What some call small gestures, heaven calls harvest.

Thank you, Lady E, for putting your heart on display as we saved souls from the freezing cold. Heart work always pays off.

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul — a leader who serves with her hands and loves with a heart as pure as gold.

Please receive this blessing from the Barber on the Block.

To God be the glory.

- Pastor Kyev Tatum
