In the piney woods of East Texas, a sacred movement of remembrance and renewal is rising. On Saturday, November 8, the Buffalo Soldiers of Texas will gather with the Travis Manion Foundation and the Warriors Remembrance & Research Foundation (WRRF) for a powerful day of service—honoring America’s veterans through the Veteran Memorial Beautification and Flag Placement project at the Historic Shiloh Pioneer Cemetery in White Oak, Texas.

This special event celebrates lives of service, restores sacred ground, and uplifts the enduring legacy of those who gave their all for freedom and faith.

Event Schedule:

• 9:30 a.m. – Breakfast Mixer (optional)

• 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. – Veterans Day Program at Shiloh Baptist Church (optional)

• 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Beautification and Flag Placement

Volunteers will work side by side to install memorial flag poles, clean and reset veteran grave sites, and place ceremonial flags at the resting places of our nation’s heroes.

This family-friendly project welcomes people of all ages and abilities. Whether planting flags or polishing headstones, each act of service honors the courage, character, and commitment of America’s veterans.

WRRF will provide all tools, materials, snacks, and water — everything needed for a day of faith in action. This year’s service holds special significance as it honors the life and legacy of SFC Randall D. Christian, Sr., USA, a man whose dedication to God, family, and country continues to inspire generations.

FAITH. FREEDOM. FELLOWSHIP. FORTITUDE.

Glory to God for what He’s doing in East Texas! The Buffalo Soldiers of Texas have joined forces with the Christian Family Military Service at Fort Christian in White Oak to bring help, hope, and healing to homeless veterans on their road to recovery.

“The Christian Family Military Service has a stellar legacy, and we are honored to serve in collaboration with the Buffalo Soldiers,” said Pastor Kyev Tatum of New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas.

This dynamic partnership is restoring dignity, renewing purpose, and reigniting the spirit of service in those who once defended our nation’s freedom. The Texas Buffalo Soldiers and the Christian Family are living proof that when faith and service unite, miracles happen and communities are transformed.

In an extraordinary act of generosity, the Christian Family recently donated 64 acres to the State of Texas to establish a Texas State Cemetery in East Texas — a sacred resting place for heroes who served both God and country.

“I totally agree,” said Pastor Tatum. “Ms. Debra Christian has a heart as big as Texas! Her compassion and leadership remind us that souls made of gold still shine bright in Shiloh.”
