SOULS MADE OF GOLD: By Pastor Kyev P. Tatum, Sr., Publisher, Black Texans, Inc.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS - Black Texans, Inc. and New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church—under the inspired leadership of Pastor Kyev Tatum—were deeply honored to lead the Souls Made of Gold Veterans Day Weekend Commemorations across White Oak, Tyler, and Haltom City, Texas. With joyful pride and heartfelt reverence, this year’s celebration uplifted the extraordinary legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers, the 369th Infantry Regiment—Harlem Hellfighters, and the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, lovingly known as the Six Triple Eight. The 2025 observance also marked a historic milestone: 250 years of courageous service in the American Armed Forces, from 1775 to 2025.
As our nation moves toward its Semiquincentennial in 2026, Black Texans, Inc., New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, and our dedicated community partners remain energized and steadfast in shining a bright light on the men and women who served heroically in segregated military units—from the Civil War through the Korean War. Their sacrifices shaped the soul of this nation, and their stories continue to inspire and empower generations.
