FAITH IN THE FARM TO FEED GOD’S SHEEP. John 21:17
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — When Jesus said, “Feed My sheep,” He was not offering a suggestion—He was giving a command to every shepherd, every disciple, and every believer committed to His mission. At New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, we hear that call clearly, and we answer it boldly through Faith In The Farm To Feed God’s Sheep.
Rooted in faith and driven by compassion, New Mount Rose is stepping forward to confront hunger, health disparities, and hopelessness in the 76104 community. Through the New Mount Rose Food Bowl, the church is partnering with the Texas Small Farmers and Ranchers Community-Based Organization (TSFR/CBO) to bring fresh dairy, protein, and vegetables directly to families in need.
The 76104 zip code stands as a modern-day mission field, burdened by the lowest life expectancy in Texas—67 years overall and only 64 years for Black men. This community is crying out for nourishment of both body and soul. Yet we believe, by faith, that God can transform this valley of dry bones into a place of vibrant life, healing, and wholeness.
TSFR/CBO brings a legacy rooted in perseverance and unwavering faith. Founded in 1998 by W. Wade Ross and his wife, Anita Ross, the organization grew from their 120-acre homestead in Bryan, Texas—land inherited from Wade’s grandfather, Jack Ross, a man who fled slavery in the late 1800s and endured decades of injustice to secure land for his family.
Jack Ross documented each property payment by carving a notch in a tree, because he could not read or write. When that tree was cut down in an attempt to erase his progress, he did not give up—he started again. His determination was not destroyed; it was strengthened. Today, that same spirit fuels an organization now helping feed families across the state of Texas.
“This is a game changer for the inner city,” says Pastor Kyev Tatum. “Families will be able to purchase fresh dairy, protein, and vegetables directly from our partners in the Faith In The Farm Collective. It’s a win-win-win for farmers, families, and the faith community. This is kingdom work—meeting the needs of God’s sheep in real time.”
Faith In The Farm To Feed God’s Sheep is more than a program. It is a ministry. It is a movement. It is a mustard seed of faith planted in a place the world has overlooked—but God has never forgotten.
Through this initiative, New Mount Rose is living out the Gospel, restoring dignity, sowing justice, and building the foundation for a healthier, stronger, Spirit-filled future for generations to come.
