✨ About the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women began in the winter of 1970 in New York City, when 24 visionary Black women, led by Edna Beach, began meeting in their homes to address the challenges and opportunities left in the wake of the turbulent 1960s.
From those intimate gatherings, they birthed what became a powerful national movement. Throughout the 1970s, these women worked tirelessly to understand the root causes of issues affecting their families and communities, ultimately becoming a visible force of influence promoting gender and racial equity.
Today, the Fort Worth Metropolitan Chapter carries that mission forward — advocating for leadership development, health, education, and economic empowerment for Black women and girls. Through programs like A Circle of Compassion, they continue to spark dialogue, inspire collaboration, and build a stronger, more equitable future for all.
