LIFT AS WE CLIMB: Savvy Sliders Helps Fuel Back-to-School Bash.

Morningside Rallies for a New School Year—and Welcomes Savvy Sliders to the Neighborhood.

Morningside is stepping into the new school year with energy, unity, and purpose—and this time, they’re celebrating with a new neighbor who’s ready to grow with them. Savvy Sliders, the fast-rising restaurant brand known for its gourmet sliders and over-the-top milkshakes, has planted roots at 901 E. Berry St. and is proudly sponsoring the Morningside Community Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at House of Fadez Studio (1206 Glen Garden Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76104).

For Morningside, this event is more than a party—it’s a tradition of preparing local students for success. Families from Morningside Elementary, Morningside Middle, Carroll Peak Elementary, Van Zandt-Guinn Elementary, and local charter schools will come together for a day filled with free backpacks, essential school supplies, professional haircuts, athletic physicals, food, music, and family fun. Powered by New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, House of Fadez Studios, Skills City USA, Ministers Justice Coalition, and a host of volunteers, the Bash reflects what this community does best: we lift as we climb.

Enter Savvy Sliders—a restaurant that believes in feeding more than just appetites. Founded in 2018 by restaurateur Happy Asker, Savvy Sliders has grown to over 50 locations nationwide, bringing USDA Prime beef, fried chicken, English cod, vegetarian falafel sliders, chicken fingers, salads, and milkshakes in bold flavors like banana pudding and strawberry shortcake to cities across America. Now, they’re investing in Morningside’s future.

“We’re thrilled to be part of the Fort Worth community,” says Mark Wolok, VP of Business Development. “We want to serve great food—and be great neighbors.”

That sentiment resonates in Morningside Business League, where residents want both their children and their new businesses to thrive. A strong school year and a strong local economy go hand-in-hand, and this Back-to-School Bash embodies that vision: a community where everyone wins together.

Businesses and supporters can still get involved by sponsoring the event with a tax-deductible donation of $100, $200, or $300, or by setting up a table to meet families face-to-face. To sign up as a vendor, contact Ms. Erika Webb at (817) 225-8621. To make a contribution, reach out to Pastor Kyev Tatum at (817) 966-7625 or send via Zelle to newmtrosembc@gmail.com.

This August, Morningside isn’t just going back to school—it’s moving forward together, with a plate of sliders in one hand and a future full of possibilities in the other.
