GIVE MAMA THE MONEY CRUSADE: Statewide School Choice Meeting in Fort Worth, on Monday, August 25, 2025 – 6:30 PM at the New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church – Kirk Franklin Chapel
2864 Mississippi Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76104 (https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/texas-school-choice-2026-parents-prepare-for-charter-private-and-homeschool-options/).
The Give Mama the Money Crusade continues its bold fight for educational equity with a statewide meeting on school choice, hosted in the heart of Fort Worth’s historic 76104 community.
At 6:30 PM on Monday, August 25, 2025, families, faith leaders, and education advocates will gather at the Kirk Franklin Chapel inside New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church to explore new educational pathways and opportunities for Texas students.
Families Empowered will lead a free community session, Small Schools, Big Opportunities, introducing families to the microschool model and providing insights on the upcoming Texas Education Savings Accounts (ESAs). Parents and guardians will have the chance to ask questions, explore innovative approaches to learning, and discover what’s possible for their children’s future (https://www.fox7austin.com/news/texas-senate-public-hearing-school-vouchers).
Rev. Kyev P. Tatum, Sr., Pastor of New Mount Rose and Convener of the Give Mama the Money Crusade, underscored the urgency of the moment:
“When you’re drowning, you’re looking for a life vest to get you out of that situation. It doesn’t matter where that life vest comes from as long as you can get that life vest. That’s the condition of inner-city schools. We’re not getting the life vests from the public schools. Sure, I would love for the public schools to do well. But the reality is those schools in my community, in 76104, are not getting the same opportunities as the West Side.”
The Give Mama the Money Crusade insists that parents—especially mothers—must be trusted with the resources to choose the best educational path for their children. By shifting funding closer to families, the movement affirms: “we empower the household, not the bureaucracy.”
And while Texas lawmakers continue to overlook meaningful school choice and parental rights, this crusade ensures that the voices of urban families, single mothers, and underserved communities are heard loud and clear.
