FAITH WITH CHEESECAKE AT THE PLATE
FAITH WITH CHEESECAKE AT THE PLATE
Sunday mornings are always a blessed time to serve the Lord, but this week’s service held an extra layer of joy as New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church celebrated Friends and Family Day. The sanctuary was filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of fellowship.
Among our honored guests was a young champion with a bright future, Kinsler “Cheesecake” Farmer, and his mother, who joined us from Crandall, Texas. Cheesecake recently made history as the 2025 Rube Foster Pitch, Hit & Run Invitational Champion and is now preparing for the Regional Championship at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas—the home of the Texas Rangers.
As Kinsler entered the church, he greeted Pastor Kyev Tatum with a heartfelt hug and presented him with a priceless keepsake: the very baseball he used to hit a grand slam home run. Moved by this act, Pastor Tatum responded with a gift of his own—a baseball signed by legendary Texas Rangers player Bump Wills, marked with his famous #1. Pastor Tatum reminded Cheesecake, “If you keep Jesus as number one in your life, the sky is the limit.”
The morning message, drawn from Colossians 3:23–24, echoed the same truth: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Whether on the field, in the classroom, or in life, giving God your best guarantees a future filled with promise.
With faith in God and Cheesecake at the plate, we believe greatness is already on the horizon.
Congratulations, Cheesecake! Your New Mount Rose family is cheering you on as you step up to the plate at Globe Life Field for the Regional Pitch, Hit & Run Championship.
