FAITH, FADES, FAMILY, FOOD & FUN: BACK TO SCHOOL BASH AT THE HOUSE OF FADEZ A HUGE SUCCESS.

“It felt like family.” – Dr. Misty Maclin, Maclin Family Medicine

Fort Worth, Texas – Morningside came alive with joy, laughter, and love as the annual Back to School Bash at House of Fadez brought the community together to celebrate, encourage, and equip our children for a winning school year.

The scene was pure excitement — children bouncing high in the inflatable house, their faces lit with joy, parents chatting with neighbors, and the smell of fresh Domino’s pizza and mouthwatering SAVVY Sliders filling the air. The team at SAVVY Sliders didn’t just serve delicious food — they connected with their new neighbors, shared smiles, and blessed local children with coupons for free meals.

But beyond the fun and food, the heartbeat of this event was the mission: to prepare our young scholars for success in the classroom and in life.

Boss Lady E — better known as Ms. Erika Webb, proud mother of three and powerhouse owner of House of Fadez — welcomed a powerhouse lineup of community partners. Dr. Misty Maclin and her team from Maclin Family Medicine delivered a game-changing gift: free student physicals and the exciting news that house calls will soon be available for Morningside families. “This felt like family, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to give back to the community,” Dr. Maclin said, her words echoing the spirit of the day.

From free backpacks to fresh haircuts, from sports physicals to heartfelt hugs, House of Fadez proved once again it’s more than a barbershop — it’s a beacon of hope, pride, and possibility. “We are grateful for the neighborhood businesses who stepped up to help make this Back to School Bash a success,” Boss Lady E shared with pride.

And the movement doesn’t stop here. In partnership with New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, Skills City, USA, the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas, Boyz2Men Mentors, and Hope Farm, the vision is growing into a year-round outreach effort with a powerful mission: Lift As We Climb — because when one child rises, the whole community rises.

The Fatherhood Forward Initiative is building momentum:

Starting Friday, October 3, 2025, First Friday Fathers will launch — a New Mount Rose Church initiative, in collaboration with the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas, Boyz2Men Mentors, and Hope Farm — calling fathers to step into their children’s schools at least once a month to inspire, encourage, and support both students and teachers, creating faith-filled and father-friendly school environments.

In Morningside, back to school is more than sharpened pencils and new shoes — it’s about building dreams, strengthening families, and showing our children that their community will always have their back.
