On behalf of the Buffalo Soldiers Veterans Day and Frontier Women Showcase, it is with deep gratitude and joy that I extend my warmest congratulations to you.


You are being honored not only for receiving the Congressional Gold Medal on behalf of your distinguished descendant, Ms. Zorah Irene Christian of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, but also for your extraordinary generosity in donating land to the State of Texas to establish a Texas State Veterans Cemetery in White Oak. Your faith, vision, and selfless leadership have made history and created a lasting legacy of honor for veterans and their families.


This recognition comes at a meaningful time as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States Army and the 80th Anniversary of World War II. We are humbled to announce that you will be formally presented with the Congressional Gold Medal in honor of Ms. Zorah Irene Christian’s service, sacrifice, and achievements during the Buffalo Soldiers Veterans Day and Frontier Women Showcase on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 6:45 p.m. at the Texas African-American Museum, 309 MLK Blvd, Tyler, Texas 75702.
