A SEAT AT HISTORY’S TABLE. Psalm 78:4

“My heroes are my ancestors.” – Ms. RosieLeetta Reed

A SEAT AT HISTORY’S TABLE

“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done.” –

At Camp Buffalo Soldiers, hosted by New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth, our Young Buffalo Soldiers were inspired by three remarkable leaders: Ms. RosieLeetta Reed, President of the Texas Buffalo Soldiers Association; Mr. Sam Allen, President of the North Texas Buffalo Soldiers Association; and Mr. Paul McGowan, President of the East Texas Buffalo Soldiers Association. Through powerful stories of courage and sacrifice, they reminded our youth that they are heirs to a legacy meant to be remembered, honored, and carried forward.

Now, that legacy calls them to Washington, D.C. These young leaders have been granted a rare and profound honor: to sit at history’s table during the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony for the legendary 369th Infantry Regiment—the Harlem Hellfighters. These extraordinary soldiers endured 191 days on the frontlines of World War I, suffered more losses than any other American unit, and returned home as one of the most decorated regiments in U.S. military history.

This journey is more than a trip. It is a celebration of bravery, perseverance, and the promise of a new generation rising to claim its place in the story of our nation. We invite you to help lift them to this unforgettable milestone.
