FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The story begins in May of 1980, when the Fort Worth Star-Telegram captured a proud mother on its front page, celebrating the graduation of her son Archie. Among the crowd was a young boy named Kyev Tatum. That moment lit a spark—and since then, Kyev has lived in a lifelong love affair with the media.

From catching passes on the football field at Tarleton State University, to organizing student movements at the University of North Texas, to championing civil rights at Texas State University and confronting policymakers in the halls of the Texas State Capitol—Kyev’s journey has always run parallel with the lens, the microphone, and the story.

Now, as Pastor of New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, his prophetic voice continues to echo far beyond the pulpit.

Kyev Tatum doesn’t just use media—he understands it. He’s lived it. As a former radio announcer on two San Marcos stations, and now as host of the Determined and Undeterred podcast, Kyev has shaped his message with clarity, conviction, and compassion.

He’s been interviewed by every major media outlet in Texas and countless national platforms. His commentary is not noise—it’s newsworthy. A trusted voice. A soundbite savant. A preacher with a press pass.

But what truly separates Pastor Kyev Tatum is not just his presence on camera—but his purpose behind it. He has consistently used the power of media to amplify the voices of the ignored, the silenced, and the unseen. Even when officials shut doors or turn off microphones—Kyev speaks. And the cameras roll.

His 40-plus-year relationship with the media is built not on convenience, but on trust. He trusts them. And they trust him.

For the least, the last, the lost, and the left out—Kyev Tatum is not just a voice in the wilderness. He is a friend in the media.

And that’s the message worth listening to.
