TEXAS RANGERS STEP UP TO THE PLATE AT THE 2025 FUN OVER GUNS: RUBE FOSTER PITCH, HIT & RUN INVITATIONAL!

Saturday, July 26, 2025 | 9:00 AM | Gateway Park – Fort Worth, Texas

From the battlefield to the ballfield, the legacy lives on!

Fort Worth, gear up for a powerful day where baseball meets history, and fun overcomes fear. This year’s Rube Foster Pitch, Hit & Run Invitational is more than a game — it’s a celebration of courage, culture, and community!

We’re honoring Rube Foster, the legendary father of Negro League Baseball, and the Buffalo Soldiers, whose discipline and dignity shaped both the military and the diamond. Their legacy inspires us to stand tall and play hard — just like they did.

As part of Major League Baseball’s official Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) series, this event offers boys and girls a chance to showcase their skills and qualify for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete during the 2025 MLB World Series!

TEXAS RANGERS BRING THE SWAG!

The 2023 World Series Champion Texas Rangers are once again projecting positivity by providing FREE Rangers baseball caps to the first 100 youth participants — helping young athletes take the field with confidence and hometown pride!

“We are deeply grateful to the Texas Rangers for their ongoing support,” says Pastor Kyev Tatum, founder of the Fun Over Guns: Rube Foster Pitch, Hit & Run.

“We look forward to seeing our kids suited up and inspired by champions.”

COACHING ON DECK!

Our community is in good hands!

The City of Fort Worth Parks & Recreation team will be on-site providing expert coaching, guidance, and encouragement — ensuring a fun, safe, and skill-building experience for every young player.

This is more than baseball:

It’s a tribute to trailblazers

It’s a rally for resilience

It’s a celebration of community power

So bring your glove. Bring your family. Bring your dreams.

Let’s pitch peace, hit hope, and run toward a better tomorrow — together.
