HALLELUJAH FOR THE HELL FIGHTERS! Young Buffalo Soldiers Prepare to Honor the 369th in Washington, D.C.
HALLELUJAH FOR THE HELL FIGHTERS! Young Buffalo Soldiers Prepare to Honor the 369th in Washington, D.C. By Black Texans, Inc.
A Call to Action from Pastor Kyev Tatum and New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church.
On July 12, 2025, Pastor Kyev Tatum opened Fort Twenty-Fourth, the training ground on the sacred grounds of New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. There, fifteen determined students began a powerful journey through faith, film, fitness, and freedom—the first steps of Camp Buffalo Soldiers.
Just two days later, on July 14, Pastor Tatum received a personal invitation from the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives to attend the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony for the 369th Infantry Regiment of World War I—better known as the Harlem Hell Fighters—to be held on September 3, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
This prestigious recognition marks only the second time in U.S. history that Congress has bestowed its highest civilian honor upon an all-Black Army unit. The first was just months earlier, on April 29, when Pastor Tatum led a historic delegation of youth and adults to the Capitol to honor the trailblazing women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. The youth group known as Little Miss Six Triple Eight, honored the first and only all-Black and Latina female battalion to serve overseas during WWII.
Now, history calls again.
And the Young Buffalo Soldiers are ready to answer.
“We are honored to return to Washington to pay tribute to the men of the 369th, and we’re grateful to every partner who helps us take these young leaders to this historic moment.”
— Pastor Kyev Tatum
Join the Journey — Invest in the Legacy
We are calling on our village—you—to help raise $25,000 so that these young men can stand where their ancestors fought to be recognized, remembered, and respected.
Many of these students have never left Fort Worth, let alone walked the marble halls of American power.
This trip will take them from the back streets of 76104 to the front steps of the U.S. Capitol.
They will:
• Tour national landmarks and museums
• Learn from military history and Black excellence
• Represent their city at a historic congressional ceremony
• Return home as ambassadors of legacy and leadership
Your Support Makes This Possible:
• Round-trip travel to Washington, D.C.
• Lodging and accommodations
• Meals, educational resources, and formal attire
• Guided tours of historical sites and monuments
• Admission to the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony honoring the Harlem Hellfighters
This Is More Than a Trip — It’s a Mission
This is not just about taking pictures in Washington.
This is about planting purpose.
We are equipping these young men with the stories of the past so they can rise and rewrite the future.
We are helping them understand that they come from warriors, thinkers, and nation-builders.
Your gift affirms their value.
Your gift expands their vision.
Your gift continues a movement of faith, legacy, and liberation.
