New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth : Pitch Hit & Run 2025

Step up. Speak out. Swing with purpose!

The summer heat meets holy hope at the 3rd Annual Fun Over Guns: Rube Foster Pitch, Hit & Run Competition — where faith, fun, and the fight against gun violence come together for a day that inspires, uplifts, and unites!

Hosted by the City of Fort Worth, Major League Baseball, and New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, this FREE, action-packed event is open to youth and families who believe in the power of play, peace, and positive change.

Kids will test their skills in MLB’s official Pitch, Hit & Run Competition, featuring:

• Pitching for precision into a strike zone

• Hitting for distance off a tee

• Running the bases with speed and heart

Winners in each age group have the chance to advance to regional and even national MLB competitions!

But this isn’t just about baseball—it’s about building a better future. The Fun Over Guns campaign is a faith-led call to end the violence stealing our children’s dreams. It’s about showing our youth they were born to swing for greatness, not fall to gunfire.

We’re also lifting up the legacy of Rube Foster, the visionary known as the Father of Negro League Baseball, who once played right here in Fort Worth. His courage, leadership, and excellence still echo through every glove, bat, and base.

Join us as we put faith on the field, courage in the community, and hope in every home.

Let’s pitch for peace. Hit for healing. And run toward a future full of promise.
