BUFFALO SOLDIERS, ICE CREAM — YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

BUFFALO SOLDIERS, ICE CREAM — YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

“I don’t know if I was put here to change the world—but I do know this: we were sent to shape the hearts, stir the minds, and strengthen the hands of the next generation who will.”

—Kyev Tatum

Today at Camp Buffalo Soldiers, our young campers got a sweet taste of success by making their very own ice cream! But it wasn’t just about dessert—it was about discipline, dignity, and discovery. Thanks to the support of the legendary Buffalo Soldiers and our partners at Bravo Zulu Homefront, our future leaders are learning vital life skills, survival techniques, home training—and gaining a deeper respect for the historic sacrifices of the Black men who fought for freedom on and off the battlefield.

At New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, we are committed to preserving, protecting, and promoting the rich legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and Black military heritage. Through programs like Camp Buffalo Soldiers and our Skills City USA initiative, we are working to improve academic achievement, strengthen behavior, and empower inner-city youth and families with faith-fueled guidance and support.

Join us on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at New Mount Rose as we proudly celebrate Buffalo Soldiers Day in America—a day to honor their legacy and continue their mission of excellence, service, and strength.

Heart work makes the dream work!

Buffalo Soldiers—Still Serving. Still Strong.
