A Rose That Lasts Forever: The Legacy of Mother Arletha Franklin of the New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth. Pastor Kyev Tatum, Sr. Memories: https://vimeo.com/1089963350

With heavy hearts and enduring gratitude, we honor the life and legacy of Mother Arletha Franklin, a pillar of faith, service, and love at the New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church.

An original member since our move to Mississippi Avenue, Mother Franklin embodied the very spirit of our church’s mission. She sang joyfully in the choir, lovingly prepared breakfast for the congregation, and selflessly served on the front lines of our COVID-19 Clinic during the pandemic. Her hands were healing hands. Her heart was a servant’s heart. Her presence was a blessing.

Like a rose that never withers, her memory remains forever in bloom—radiating beauty, grace, and the fragrance of a life well lived in Christ. Her impact is etched in the hearts of all she touched.

We are better because she lived. We are blessed because she served. And we are comforted knowing her spirit endures.

Rest well, Mother Franklin. You are a rose that lasts forever.

Yield in the Master’s Field. By Pastor Kyev Tatum, Sr., Monday, June 2, 2024.

She labored long in sacred ground,

With faithful hands and love profound.

A rose from Heaven’s garden fair,

Now rests in peace beyond all care.

At New Mount Rose, she found her place,

Among the saints, she ran her race.

She joined the flock on Mississippi’s lane,

And walked in purpose through joy and pain.

She lifted songs of holy praise,

Her voice a balm on weary days.

With spirit strong and heart aflame,

She glorified the Savior’s name.

She served with grace, she gave with cheer,

With apron tied and mission clear.

She fed both body, heart, and soul,

Her quiet touch would make us whole.

Through times of plague, when fear took flight,

She stood for love and shined her light.

A healing hand, a steady guide,

She stayed when others stepped aside.

She bore the fruits of Christlike love,

A gift from God, sent from above.

With steady heart and willing mind,

She sowed good seeds for all mankind.

And when her journey reached its end,

She heard the voice of her true Friend:

“Well done, My daughter, faithful and true—

The crown of glory waits for you.”

She did not fade—she bloomed anew,

Beyond this life, beyond our view.

Her fragrance lingers in this space,

The lasting scent of love and grace.

She wore the robe of servant pride,

A matriarch who walked beside.

Her children rise and bless her name,

A legacy that will remain.

In the Master’s field, she gave her all,

She answered every sacred call.

And now she rests from earthly strife,

Still sowing love beyond this life.

Though Heaven called, she’s ever near—

Her voice, her heart, we still can hear.

A guiding star, a gentle flame,

Still lighting paths in Jesus’ name.

So now we bow and yield in grace,

To one who served and ran her race.

A rose that bloomed and blossoms still—

A soul aligned with Heaven’s will.
