On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., the Fort Worth City Council, led by Councilman Chris Nettles, will officially pass a historic resolution commemorating the trailblazing women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion — affectionately known as the Six Triple Eight — at the brand-new Fort Worth City Hall, 100 Fort Worth Trail, Fort Worth, Texas 76104. This all-Black and Latina women’s battalion made history during World War II as the only unit of its kind to serve overseas, tackling the massive backlog of military mail and delivering hope in an envelope to American troops across Europe.
