MEN WHO MATTERS. Genesis 4:4 | The Journey Beyond Jealousy. A 10-Week Devotional Series Based on Proverbs 6:34 – “For jealousy is the rage of a man…”

Beginning, July 7, 2025 at 7pm at the New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church 2864 Mississippi Avenue Fort Worth, Texas 76104. Pastor Kyev Tatum, facilitator.

WEEK 1: Recognize the Root

Scripture: Psalm 139:23-24

Focus: Jealousy is a spiritual issue rooted in the heart. Begin by asking God to reveal where it lives in you.

Prayer: “Lord, search my heart. Show me if jealousy is hiding in me. Heal me where I’ve been wounded by comparison.”

WEEK 2: Let Go of Comparison

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10:12

Focus: Comparing yourself to others is a thief of joy and a doorway for jealousy.

Prayer: “Father, help me stop measuring myself by others. Let me find peace in who You made me to be.”

WEEK 3: Rejoice with Others

Scripture: Romans 12:15

Focus: Joy shared is joy multiplied. Celebrating others breaks the spirit of envy.

Prayer: “God, teach me to celebrate the blessings of others as if they were my own.”

WEEK 4: Embrace Your Assignment

Scripture: Ephesians 2:10

Focus: You have a unique purpose. Jealousy fades when you’re focused on your own calling.

Prayer: “Lord, remind me that You created me for a divine reason. Help me to walk in that truth.”

WEEK 5: Strengthen Your Spirit

Scripture: Galatians 5:16-17

Focus: The flesh fuels jealousy, but the Spirit brings peace and contentment.

Prayer: “Holy Spirit, fill me today. Let me walk in love, joy, and self-control.”

WEEK 6: Turn Jealousy into Intercession

Scripture: Matthew 5:44

Focus: Pray for the people you envy. God will shift your heart in the process.

Prayer: “Lord, bless those I’ve been jealous of. Pour into them what they need, and free me in the process.”

WEEK 7: Rest in God’s Timing

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:11

Focus: Your season is coming. Jealousy often grows when we doubt God’s timing.

Prayer: “I trust You, God. You make everything beautiful in its time—including my story.”

WEEK 8: Practice Daily Gratitude

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Focus: A thankful heart leaves little room for envy. Count your blessings every day.

Prayer: “Thank You, Lord, for what I have. Help me to live from a place of contentment.”

WEEK 9: Speak Life, Not Resentment

Scripture: Proverbs 18:21

Focus: Use your words to uplift others—even when it’s hard. Jealousy dies in a climate of encouragement.

Prayer: “Let my words reflect Your love, God. Help me build others up, not tear them down.”

WEEK 10: Reflect Christ’s Character

Scripture: Philippians 2:3-5

Focus: The ultimate cure for jealousy is Christlike humility.

Prayer: “Jesus, help me to think and live like You—humble, joyful, and secure in the Father’s love.”
