Kyev P. Tatum, Sr. | A Movement In Motion.

Kyev P. Tatum, Sr. is a movement in motion—a walking, talking, truth-telling force for change. With more than three decades of experience as a public advocate, policy innovator, faith leader, and grassroots strategist, Pastor Tatum commands every stage he stands on. Whether he’s at the pulpit, a policy roundtable, a protest line, or a press conference, his presence is undeniable, and his purpose is clear: to speak truth, ignite hope, and stir action.

He is not just a speaker—he is an experience. A “speaker’s speaker” and a “servant’s servant,” Pastor Tatum blends the heart of a pastor, the mind of a policymaker, and the fire of a freedom fighter. His style is bold, brilliant, and deeply rooted in the belief that justice, equity, and faith are not mutually exclusive—they are essential companions on the road to transformation.

With every address, Tatum brings prophetic urgency and practical insight, lifting his audience beyond inspiration into activation. From corporate boardrooms to correctional institutions, youth summits to spiritual convocations, his message resonates across generations and geographies. His words don’t just move people—they mobilize them.

A masterful storyteller, Pastor Tatum paints vivid pictures of pain, possibility, and power. He speaks from lived experience, earned wisdom, and academic preparation. With cultural clarity and historical depth, he confronts complex issues—racial injustice, economic disparity, health inequity, urban neglect—and delivers them with clarity, conviction, and compassion. He has an extraordinary gift for meeting people where they are and challenging them to rise higher.

Each year, he addresses thousands across the nation, from the heart of Fort Worth to the halls of Capitol Hill, from rural towns to international platforms. His impact spans government agencies, universities, Fortune 500 companies, faith-based organizations, and grassroots coalitions. Whether he’s testifying before legislators, mentoring young leaders, or delivering keynote addresses, Tatum’s influence is both powerful and permanent.

A proud graduate of the University of North Texas and a lifelong student of the streets and the Scriptures, Tatum has founded a host of innovative initiatives that are transforming lives and communities—including The Inner City Coffee Exchange, The Texas 6888th Project, and Farm Fort Worth. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church and the President of the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas. He is the author of Fighting Black in Texas, a groundbreaking anthology that chronicles Black resistance to racial injustice in the Lone Star State from 1868 to the present.

A native son of Fort Worth, Pastor Tatum is a community architect, a policy shaper, and a soul stirrer. He is building bridges between generations, creating pipelines of purpose for inner-city youth, and reclaiming hope for underserved communities. His leadership has earned national recognition, including honors from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Texas A&M University Center for Coffee Research and Education, and multiple civic and faith-based institutions.

Pastor Tatum is married to Tonya Tatum, his steadfast partner in purpose and faith. Together, they continue to rear, raise, and rally a new generation of changemakers under their shared mission: “Rear Our Own To Succeed While Raising Our Own To Serve.”
