FILLING BOWLS, BLESSING SOULS. The Purple Rose of Texas Has Risen from the Desert in 2025. Isaiah 35:1 — “The desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose.”
“O come, O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel, that mourns in lonely exile here…”
“O come, O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel, that mourns in lonely exile here…”
These ancient words echo in our hearts even now—as they did for the exiles of old—capturing the ache of a people who have known loss, endured wilderness, and waited with weary hope for God to move again.
But the wilderness is no longer silent. In 2025, New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth is rising from the dust. We have lived through our desert season—marked by weakness, weariness, and wandering—but now, we are blooming. What was once desolate now dances with life. The God who walks with exiles has visited us, and The Purple Rose of Texas is in full bloom.
This is not just a season of survival.
This is a holy homecoming. This is our Isaiah 35 moment.

This is a holy homecoming. This is our Isaiah 35 moment.
Like the exiled people of Judah, we have felt sorrow in our bodies—weak hands, feeble knees, fearful hearts. But the Lord has not left us in exile. He has come with power, with healing, and with restoration.
• He has loosed our tongues to sing again.
• He has poured water on our desert.
• He has made the wilderness a highway of hope.
And now, the ransomed of the Lord—New Mount Rose—has returned with singing.

In 2025, God is doing marvelous things among us:
• We were named One of the Most Influential in Fort Worth for the fifth consecutive year (2021–2025), a testimony to the moral and spiritual leadership rooted right here in the Hillside of historic Morningside Estates.
• We curated the groundbreaking “Trilogy of Her Story” exhibit, honoring Black Women Trailblazers of Fort Worth at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History—raising the voices of those long overlooked.
• We received a national invitation to Washington, D.C., for the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony honoring the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-Black, all-women unit to serve overseas in WWII.
• We joined the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project, preserving the powerful stories of our military families so their legacy lives on for generations.
⸻
But our greatest testimony is this: God has turned our mourning into dancing.
He has transformed our barren ground into blessed soil. We are filling bowls, blessing souls, and building again—not on sand, but on the solid rock of Christ.
As Isaiah declares, “The desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose.”
We are that rose. We are that rejoicing. And we declare to every weak hand, to every trembling knee, to every fearful heart:
“Be strong, do not fear! Here is your God! He will come and save you.”

To the faithful of New Mount Rose:
Your faith has made a way.
Your prayers have tilled the soil.
Your service has watered the roots.
Now watch what God will do.
Keep blooming. Keep building. Keep believing.
The best is still blossoming.
