EVERYONE LOVED CANDY!
Fort Worth Film Commission Sponsors Candy Clark & American Graffiti Tribute Weekend in Cowtown – June 20–21.

Fort Worth, TX — The Youth Coffee Expo and Coffeeaires are thrilled to present a one-of-a-kind celebration honoring Oscar-nominated actress Candy Clark on her birthday weekend, June 20–21, in Fort Worth, Texas. The Fort Worth Film Commission, the city’s leading advocate for the film and television industry, has officially joined the tribute as a presenting sponsor. The weekend event will feature the American Graffiti Tribute Car Collection, a nostalgic homage to the iconic film that defined a generation and catapulted Candy Clark to stardom.

But this celebration is more than a star-studded party—it’s a catalyst for youth empowerment. Proceeds from the tribute will benefit the Youth Job Program, providing real-world employment opportunities for Fort Worth youth ages 12 to 15. The program focuses on skill-building in creative industries like film, media, and storytelling—while also introducing young people to the specialty coffee trade through innovative hands-on experiences.

About the Youth Coffee Expo

The Youth Coffee Expo is a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to introduce inner-city youth to the specialty coffee industry as a pathway to economic opportunity, global awareness, and local revitalization. Through immersive workshops, demonstrations, and mentorship, youth explore careers in agribusiness, entrepreneurship, marketing, and international trade. The Expo brews more than just coffee—it brews confidence, connection, and community.

The tribute weekend will also celebrate the release of Candy Clark’s new book, Tight Heads, and highlight her remarkable career in film, television, and now, literature. With the support of the Fort Worth Film Commission, this event will inspire a new generation of creatives and honor the legacy of a true Hollywood icon.

“We are extremely excited to partner with the Fort Worth Film Commission to host this unforgettable experience,” said Pastor Kyev Tatum, lead organizer of the event. “Their commitment to building a world-class film industry in Fort Worth aligns perfectly with our mission to elevate youth, celebrate creativity, and honor trailblazers like Candy Clark.”

Major productions such as 12 Mighty Orphans, 1883, Miss Juneteenth, and The Old Man & the Gun have found their cinematic home in Fort Worth.

In 2023, the Commission launched the Fort Worth Film Collaborative in partnership with Tarrant County College and 101 Studios to provide workforce training in hair and makeup, lighting and grip, and set construction—preparing local talent for high-demand roles in film production.

Their successful advocacy also helped expand Texas’ film incentives from $45 million to $200 million, positioning the state as a national leader in attracting film and TV projects. Located in the heart of Cowtown, the Commission continues to elevate Fort Worth as a premier creative destination.
