THE SKIES ARE CALLING: Soaring to New Heights with The Little Red Tails Academy. 


With reading comprehension at an all-time low and educational disparities widening, the Morningside community stands at a pivotal moment. But rather than accept these challenges as permanent barriers, Pastor Kyev Tatum and local clergy are launching a bold and visionary initiative—The Little Red Tails Academy—to honor the legacy of Mr. Robert T. McDaniel, a former principal of Morningside Middle School, WWII Tuskegee Airman, and a proud member of the historic 477th Bombardment Group at Freeman Field in 1945.


This groundbreaking academy is more than just an educational program—it is a pathway to empowerment, a runway to readiness, and a launchpad for limitless possibilities. By integrating aviation-based learning, The Little Red Tails Academy will:


✈ Introduce students to the world of aviation, sparking curiosity and a love for STEM fields.

📚 Strengthen reading comprehension and literacy skills, making learning an adventure.

🚀 Instill discipline, confidence, and critical thinking, preparing students for high-achieving futures.

💡 Honor the Tuskegee Airmen’s legacy, teaching perseverance, excellence, and the power of breaking barriers.



This is not just an academic initiative—it’s a movement to lift our children higher, give them wings of knowledge, and help them soar beyond the limits society has placed upon them. The Tuskegee Airmen defied expectations, shattered ceilings, and redefined history. Now, it’s time for Morningside’s children to write their own story of success and achievement.
