MARCHING AGAINST THE MADNESS | Friday, April 4, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas 76104.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS - Fifty-seven years ago, a bullet took the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a man who preached peace but fell victim to the very violence he fought against. His assassination was not just the loss of a leader—it was a wound to his family, to the Black community, and to a nation still grappling with the devastating impact of gun violence. Decades later, the pain persists, the trauma lingers, and the cycle continues.
On Friday, April 4, 2025, at 5:30 PM, we gather to say enough. We come together as a united force of love, resilience, and remembrance for all those we have lost, for the families still mourning, and for the communities still healing. March Against the Madness: Overcoming the Thoughts, Triggers, and Trauma of Gun Violence and Suicide is more than a march—it is a call to action, a demand for change, and a step toward healing.
We will begin at the corner of Atatiana Jefferson Memorial Parkway and Mississippi Avenue, marching through a community that knows this pain too well. With every step down Mississippi Avenue, we march in memory of Dr. King, Atatiana Jefferson, and countless others. We march for justice, we march for peace, and we march for a future where no more families must bear this burden.
Our journey will end at New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church (2864 Mississippi Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76104), where we will lift up the voices of survivors, honor the fallen, and renew our commitment to breaking the cycle of gun violence.
Let us march with purpose.
Let us march with love.
Let us march for a safer tomorrow.
