Kyev Tatum: A Trailblazer in Justice, History, and Community Leadership!
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – For an incredible fifth consecutive year, Kyev Tatum has been named one of Fort Worth’s most influential religious leaders by Fort Worth, Inc. Magazine! A passionate advocate for civil rights, social justice, and community revitalization, Tatum has fearlessly used his pulpit to fight against gun violence, police brutality, and systemic injustice—and he’s just getting started!
In 2024, Tatum’s game-changing work earned him a nomination for the Bloomberg New Economy Catalysts Class of 2024 in New York City—a prestigious honor recognizing visionaries and innovators shaping the future on a global scale!
But his impact doesn’t stop there. As a museum curator, Tatum is leading the charge in preserving and celebrating Black history with his electrifying exhibition, Trilogy of Her Story: Honoring Black Women History from Fort Worth at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. This groundbreaking showcase shines a much-needed spotlight on trailblazing Black women whose legacies have too often been overlooked!
And now, history is calling once again! In April 2025, Tatum and members of the Texas 6888th Project will head to Washington, D.C., to witness a historic moment—the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony at Emancipation Hall, honoring the legendary 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the all-Black, all-female WWII unit that defied the odds and changed history!
As if that wasn’t enough, Tatum is also stepping onto the field of sports history with his much-anticipated documentary, Corky’s Boys: The Story of the 1988 UNT Football Team. This thrilling production will take viewers deep into the grit, glory, and determination of one of the most unforgettable teams in UNT history!
A powerhouse leader, Tatum serves as Pastor of New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, President of the Ministers Justice Coalition, and Founder of the Inner City Coffee Exchange, proving time and time again that his mission is bigger than himself—it’s about uplifting communities, preserving legacies, and building a better future.
