New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church

2864 Mississippi Ave, Fort Worth, TX (Near I-35 & East Berry St.)

Before it moves to Austin for a statewide memorial, come witness the powerful, Vidas Robadas/Stolen Lives Tee Shirt Memorial.

On February 13, community leaders, families, and advocates will gather to remember the 286 lives lost to gun violence in Fort Worth and Tarrant County in 2023. Each T-shirt displayed in the sanctuary and front yard of New Mount Rose represents a neighbor taken too soon.

In 2023 alone, 46,445 Americans died from gun violence. This memorial, part of a statewide project by Texas Impact, has been created and displayed by local faith communities, including:

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church (Hurst)

New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church

First Presbyterian Church

The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship

The Episcopal Diocese of Texas North Region

Ministers Justice Coalition

The service will include:

A reading of the names of those lost

Stories from survivor families

A call to action for solutions to reduce violence in our communities

Then, on February 27, advocates will travel to the Texas State Capitol for a legislative day, urging lawmakers to take common-sense steps to prevent gun violence, such as raising the age to purchase semiautomatic firearms from 18 to 21.
