As LPGA golfer Gladys Lee steps onto the fairway of history, three upcoming events will shine a well-deserved light on her exceptional career, resilience, and groundbreaking achievements in the world of golf. From the heart of downtown Fort Worth to the grand halls of the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame, and finally to the Trilogy of Her Story: Black Women Trailblazers in Fort Worth exhibition, Lee’s legacy will be celebrated in a way that cements her place as a true pioneer in sports.



A Grand Celebration in the MLK Parade, February 17, 2025 | 10:00 AM


The journey begins with the MLK Parade in downtown Fort Worth, where Gladys Lee will be honored as the Grand Marshall. Riding through the historic streets, she will represent more than just personal achievement, she will embody the spirit of perseverance, excellence, and opportunity that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. championed.



As thousands line the parade route, young girls and aspiring athletes will see in Lee the reflection of their own dreams. Her presence will remind everyone that barriers in sports, like those in society, are meant to be broken. This moment is not just a tribute to her achievements, but a testament to the power of representation in athletics.



Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame Induction, February 28 & March 1, 2025


The celebration continues as Gladys Lee is inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame, a recognition long overdue for a woman whose dedication to the game paved the way for future generations of Black golfers.

At this exclusive reception, Gladys Lee will join a distinguished group of Black athletes and coaches who have left an indelible mark on Texas sports. It will be a night of reflection and gratitude as she shares her journey, one of perseverance, breaking barriers, and forging new paths.



Induction Luncheon, Saturday, March 1, 2025 | 11:30 AM

Location: Renaissance Dallas Hotel


The pinnacle of the Hall of Fame weekend will be the Induction Luncheon, where Gladys Lee will officially take her place among Texas sports legends. As she accepts this honor, she will not only represent her own career but also the countless Black athletes who fought for a place in the game before her. She will stand as a beacon of excellence for those who will come after her.




Trilogy of Her Story: Black Women Trailblazers in Fort Worth, March to June 2025


Gladys Lee’s journey will also be showcased in the Trilogy of Her Story: Black Women Trailblazers in Fort Worth exhibition at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Alongside fellow icons Mary Francine Reese Morrison and Beatrice Elizabeth Pringle, Lee’s story will be displayed as part of an ongoing effort to ensure that Black women who changed history are never forgotten.



This exhibition will highlight her remarkable career, from overcoming racial and gender barriers in golf to inspiring a new generation of athletes. Visitors will walk through a visual and interactive journey of her triumphs, challenges, and the lasting impact she has made on the sport.




A Legacy Set in Stone


As 2025 unfolds, these events will serve as a powerful tribute to Gladys Lee, a woman who played the game with grace, skill, and an unbreakable spirit.
