FAITH AT THE PLATE: Pastor Kyev Tatum has been invited to present his Circle of Compassionate Care at the Faith in the Field: Clergy Summit for Community Violence Prevention at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA, from April 1-3, 2025.


The Faith in the Field Clergy Summit: Moving From Thoughts and Prayers to Action is designed to equip clergy with the tools, strategies, and networks necessary to lead impactful community violence prevention efforts. During this three-day, in-person summit, participants will have the opportunity to:

• Learn from frontline advocates deeply engaged in violence prevention

• Connect with a national network of clergy and community leaders to foster collaboration and mutual support

• Access a comprehensive toolkit of strategies, resources, and intervention techniques tailored for faith-led initiatives

• Develop a practical, faith-based action plan to implement in their communities


Pastor Tatum’s Circle of Compassionate Care presentation will highlight faith-based, community-driven approaches to healing and violence prevention. This summit provides a unique opportunity for clergy and community leaders to exchange best practices, gain valuable insights, and strengthen their commitment to action.


About Pastor Kyev Tatum


Pastor Kyev P. Tatum, Sr. is a nationally recognized civil rights leader, pastor, and community advocate with over 30 years of experience in policy, program development, and public advocacy. As the President of the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas and Pastor of New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, he has dedicated his life to fighting racial injustice, advancing economic empowerment, and addressing systemic inequalities.


Pastor Tatum is a passionate advocate for youth development and education. He leads initiatives such as the Youth Coffee Expo, introducing inner-city youth to the specialty coffee industry, and Farm Fort Worth, an urban farm and farmers’ market combating food insecurity in underserved communities. He also spearheads the Texas 6888th Project, honoring the historic contributions of Black women in the military.


His work has been recognized nationally, including a nomination as a Bloomberg New Economy Catalyst in 2024. He is currently completing Fighting Black in Texas: An Anthology of Black Texans Who Resisted Racial Injustice from 1868 to Present, documenting stories of resilience and resistance.


Pastor Tatum’s experience in ministry, advocacy, and economic development uniquely positions him as a leader in faith-based violence prevention. His Circle of Compassionate Care approach is a model for clergy-led community intervention, focusing on healing, restoration, and systemic change.
