Being a Great Leader: 15 Simple Ways to Help Your Team.

A good leader doesn’t just give orders, they support and guide their team in quiet but powerful ways. Here are 15 small things great leaders do every day, with biblical wisdom to support them:

1. Listen to Understand. You really pay attention when others talk.

James 1:19, My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

2. Ask for Help and Use It. You listen to advice and make changes when needed.

Proverbs 15:22, Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

3. Make Others Feel Safe. People know they can share their ideas without fear.

Isaiah 41:10, So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

4. Believe in Your Team. You see their potential, even when they don’t.

Philippians 1:6, Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

5. Encourage Rest. You notice when someone is tired and remind them to take breaks.

Exodus 33:14, My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.

6. Trust the Experts. You let people do their jobs without micromanaging.

Exodus 18:21, But select capable men from all the people, men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain, and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.

7. Protect from Stress. You keep your team focused by handling unnecessary problems.

Matthew 11:28-30, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

8. Bring in Help When Needed. Instead of overloading your team, you find more support.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.

9. Have Meaningful Meetings. You only call meetings when they truly help.

Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

10. Support Creativity. You encourage new ideas instead of shutting them down.

Exodus 35:31-32, And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills, to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze.

11. Help Others Grow. You give your team chances to learn and improve.

2 Timothy 2:2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.

12. Celebrate Success.?You appreciate hard work and say, thank you.

1 Thessalonians 5:19, Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

13. Care About People First. You put your team’s well-being above rules or routines.

• Mark 12:31 The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.

14. Hire Smart People. You’re not afraid to bring in people who know more than you.

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

15. Build New Leaders. You teach and inspire others to lead.

• Matthew 28:19-20, Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Even though these actions seem small, they create a happy and successful team.

When leaders care about their people, their people will care about their work.

That’s the secret to success!
