Dear Friends,

On behalf of the New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church and the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for attending the 2025 MLK Justice Brunch. Your presence made this event truly special, as we came together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and recommit ourselves to the cause of justice and service.

We were blessed by the “Hearts of Hospitality” demonstrated by the New Mount Rose Culinary Team, whose dedication, skill, and joy created an unforgettable meal and a cheerful atmosphere that perfectly reflected the spirit of the day. Their hard work brought our community closer together and reminded us of the power of fellowship.

A special thank you to Presiding Officer Marsha Moberley and Commissioner Paul Kiel for gracing us with their presence and sharing inspiring words of wisdom and encouragement. Your contributions added depth and meaning to our gathering, and we are deeply grateful for your commitment to justice and equity.

We also celebrated the extraordinary contributions of Pastor Robert Brown, Pastor Andre Johnson, and Pastor John Holiman, who were recognized for their unwavering dedication to the community and the mission of the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas. Their leadership, compassion, and tireless efforts have made a lasting impact on countless lives, and it was an honor to highlight their achievements during this special event.

The brunch also marked a significant milestone with the unveiling of the Garden of Grief and Tree of Trauma Memorial, a meaningful initiative that serves as a living tribute to the resilience of our community and a call to confront and heal from the pain of injustice. We are deeply grateful to Pastor Jan Orr-Harter, curator of the memorials at New Mount Rose, for her vision, dedication, and tireless efforts in bringing this profound project to life. This initiative, in partnership with Texas Impact, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, Clergy for Safe Cities Fort Worth, and the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas, reflects the power of unity and hope.

We extend a special thanks to Brother Johnny Lewis and the KEEN Group of Fort Worth for their steadfast support and dedication to making this event and many others successful. Your commitment to community empowerment continues to inspire us all.

As we move forward, let us carry the lessons of this brunch with us—unity, love, and service. Together, we can honor Dr. King’s dream and build stronger, more compassionate communities.

Thank you once again for your support and participation. We look forward to seeing you at future events as we continue this important work.

With gratitude and hope,

Pastor Kyev P. Tatum
