“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.” – Proverbs 19:17
In Fort Worth’s inner-city neighborhoods of 76104 and 76105, New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church is leading a transformative outreach ministry that embodies Proverbs 19:17. Through divine connections, divine directions, and divine protection, the church and its partners are addressing the urgent challenges of hunger, health disparities, and social inequities, ensuring that bowls are filled and souls are blessed.
Filling Bowls: The Christ-Centered Mission
Since 2023, the New Mount Rose Food Bowl, supported by Midwest Food Bank, has distributed over $671,000 worth of food to children, senior citizens, single-parent families, and veterans in need. This Christ-centered initiative has provided hope and sustenance to Fort Worth’s most vulnerable residents, where food insecurity once loomed large.
Midwest Food Bank, the nation’s largest Christ-centered food bank, has been a cornerstone of this effort, providing critical resources through partnerships with churches, individuals, foundations, and corporations. Their unwavering support allows New Mount Rose to fulfill its divine mission of serving the poor with dignity and care.
Blessing Souls: Health + Healing Hubs
In partnership with the Ministers Justice Coalition of Texas and Healthier Texas, New Mount Rose is taking a bold step to improve health outcomes in these underserved communities. With a $430,000 grant from Texas Health Resources, the church is launching Health + Healing Hubs to address the root causes of health disparities, such as food deserts, lack of healthcare access, and chronic disease.
“These hubs are heaven-sent,” said Pastor Kyev Tatum, President of the Ministers Justice Coalition. “They are a reminder that health is wealth—mentally, physically, and spiritually. Together, we are changing the trajectory of life expectancy in our community.”
Divine Partnerships for Lasting Impact
This ministry’s success lies in its powerful partnerships:
• Midwest Food Bank: Providing resources for hunger relief.
• Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles: Supporting reentry efforts.
• Secured Moving Company: Offering logistics and distribution support.
• Sheriff’s Department Labor Detail: Enhancing community service.
• Healthier Texas: Promoting wellness and nutrition education.
These collaborations ensure that the church’s outreach extends beyond immediate needs, creating pathways for healing, empowerment, and long-term change.
