Course Overview
Learning Objectives:
1. Apply 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 to personal and community life.
2. Identify personal experiences of pain and healing.
3. Serve others intentionally while experiencing God’s restoration.
4. Develop practical skills to respond to community needs with faith and resilience.
5. Cultivate a lifestyle of comfort-giving, service, and leadership.
12-Week Course Outline
Week 1 – Introduction to Resilience Responders
• Overview of Skills City, USA and the Resilience Responders program
• Core Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (KJV)
• Discussion: What does it mean to help others while healing your heart?
• Icebreaker: Share one personal story of overcoming struggle
Week 2 – Understanding God’s Comfort
• Scripture focus: Psalm 34:18
• Teaching: God as the Father of mercies and ultimate source of comfort
• Activity: Reflection journaling – experiences of receiving God’s comfort
• Group discussion: How comfort received can guide comfort given
Week 3 – Comforting Others Through Our Pain
• Scripture focus: Galatians 6:2
• Teaching: Bearing one another’s burdens as a spiritual practice
• Roleplay: Practice comforting scenarios in pairs
• Reflection: Identify ways personal struggles can guide service to others
Week 4 – Purpose in Pain
• Scripture focus: Job 42:10
• Teaching: Trials as training grounds for service and spiritual growth
• Activity: Create a “Pain-to-Purpose Map” – identifying lessons from personal struggles
• Discussion: Sharing insights on how past difficulties can help others
Week 5 – The Faith-Fueled Formula for Freedom
• Scripture focus: Romans 8:28
• Teaching: Freedom through service, healing, and faith
• Group activity: Steps of the formula – Receive comfort → Share comfort → Heal through helping
• Reflection journaling: Personal plan for applying the formula this week
Week 6 – Developing the Resilience Responder Mindset
• Teaching: Respond even when imperfect; serve while still growing
• Discussion: How scars can become instruments of hope
• Activity: Identify personal strengths and skills that can serve the community
Week 7 – Practical Service: Planning & Preparation
• Teaching: Designing acts of service based on community needs
• Activity: Group planning session – select a community service project
• Discussion: How service aligns with Scripture and personal healing
Week 8 – Practical Service: Execution
• Scripture reflection: Isaiah 58:10–11
• Activity: Participate in the community service project
• Debrief: Share experiences, challenges, and moments of healing during service
Week 9 – Reflection and Testimony
• Activity: Journaling and storytelling – How service impacted participants and the community
• Group discussion: Witnessing God’s comfort through helping others
• Teaching: Integrating testimony into ongoing service
Week 10 – Building Community Resilience
• Scripture focus: Hebrews 10:24–25
• Teaching: Strengthening networks and partnerships for ongoing impact
• Activity: Brainstorm ways to sustain community resilience and support
Week 11 – Memorization & Personal Application
• Review memory verse: 2 Corinthians 1:4 (KJV)
• Activity: Pair recitation and discussion of how the verse applies personally
• Reflection: Write a personal action plan for the next 3 months of service
Week 12 – Graduation, Celebration, and Commitment
