Across the nation, communities continue to gather in remembrance—not only to honor the victims and first responders, but also to reaffirm values of unity, compassion, and resilience. This year, that remembrance takes on a powerful and practical form in Fort Worth, Texas. On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church will host the New Mount Rose 9/11 Community Food Bowl, distributing more than 12,000 pounds of food to families in need. Invited by U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, they will attend their second Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony—this time honoring the 369th Infantry Regiment, the legendary Harlem Hellfighters.
